Stack Overflow – does it compute?

Stack Overflow

Stack Overflow

Stack Overflow is a cool site.

There is always something weird on it which relates to computing or science or mathematics or something totally different again.

But Stack Overflow is not just an eclectic Q & A site for bored nerds … alright, maybe it is.

Personally I like the “Unanswered” questions section which you will find in the menu at the top right hand of the screen.

The “Unanswered” questions in the Physicscommunity is quite challenging, which probably explains why those questions are unanswered 🙂

There are over 140 different “communities”, ranging from servers to programming to cooking to language to biology, etc.

Here is an example of one question recently in the Physics community.

Now, don’t cheat by clicking on the link.

Try to answer the question first with the knowledge you currently have.

Then click on the link to see the answers which others have given.

Which answer is the right one?

Hmm… scientific research is not like that.

YOU have to decide which is the right answer is 🙂

Come on, seriously, what is the use of being given the answer all the time? One would never learn to think.

Example of a Physics question in Stack Overflow

When I boil a kettle, what stops all the water from turning (exploding!) in to steam in one go once it reaches 100°C?

Well, was it fun?

If you found that fun, try and answer some “Unanswered” questions 🙂

BTW, for those who do not know, a stack overflow has a definite meaning in computing.

Think of it as a program running out of memory caused by the program trying to go beyond what it already knows 🙂

Go on, click here if you didn’t already know the computing meaning and learn something to extend your knowledge so that you will not suffer from a stack overflow 🙂

Its an online company, sharing about its staff, their life, to encourage woman to work with them, with some interesting info about computing in Q&A, physics & Maths. May be we call it online enterprise, connected with computing, too.

For my opinion, the evaporation process stops the water from turning all the water into steams in one go once it reaches 100 degree celsius. The water keep on swirling and the steam coming out from the kettle until it dry out.
